The transload terminal operated by Twin Eagle Terminals & Logistics in Big Spring, Texas, has increased its total track capacity to more than 37,000 feet. This follows the completion of a 2,000-foot track addition at the site, which receives service from Union Pacific Railroad.

In Australia, Hitachi Rail has been contracted to deliver central control and integrated communication systems for the Sydney Metro West project. The company is working under the Metro Trains West Consortium, a partnership which includes MTR Corporation and CRRC Corporation Limited.

The technology supplied by Hitachi Rail will be installed along the new 15-mile underground railway line. This infrastructure is designed to connect Parramatta with the Sydney Central Business District.

Operations at the Big Spring terminal include 24/7 service, in-house rail switching, and the handling of industrial commodities such as pipe. The facility’s expansion supports transloading volumes originating from the Permian Basin region.
