Vietnamese Light Rail will Build by French Consortium

A French consortium has been awarded the contract to build the first light rail line in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with a projected cost of approximately €200 million and covering 23 stations over 12 kilometers.

A French consortium involving Vinci Construction Grands Projects and LOHR Industrie has been selected to build the first light rail line in the Vietnamese city of Ho Chi Minh.

The project includes designing and building a 12km light rail network in the city covering 23 stations. The project is expected to cost nearly €200m.

The contract will be signed by June 2010.

Railway infrastructure, rolling stock and transport technologies specialist focused on global rail industry developments, high-speed rail systems, signaling technologies and freight transportation. Covering railway investments, public transport modernization, rail operations and international mobility projects across Europe, Asia and North America.
