Operators Will Pay Out to Customer for Delay
Railway companies will have to compensate passengers with up to 75% of their fare due to delays or cancellations under new EU rules agreed by MPs, as part of a push to improve punctuality.

Train companies will have to pay out compensation to customers for delays or cancellations under new rules agreed by European MPs.
The cashback deal forces railway companies to refund 25% of the ticket price for delays exceeding one hour and 50% for trains more than two hours behind schedule, says The Press Association.
The payouts are only paid out only if the operator can be held responsible for the problems.
