Serco Wins Dubai Metro Contract

Serco has been awarded a contract worth over £400 million to operate and maintain the first two lines of the new Dubai Metro, marking the UAE’s first metro system.

UK-based services company Serco has won a contract to operate and maintain the first two lines of the new Dubai Metro.

The contract, worth more than £400m, will include pre-launch consultancy and planning which is due to start in the next few months.
Serco will run the operations control centre, provide train attendants and all staff at the stations in addition to maintaining rolling stock, track and station facilities.
The two lines which will provide 76km of track mark the first metro system in the United Arab emirates which the Dubai government Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) intends to extend to over 300km.
