RZD and Slovakia Discuss to Cooperation
President of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation with the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the Russian Federation Peter Priputen and Chairman of the Slovak–Russian Business Council Igor Ledecky in Moscow yesterday.
The sides discussed the development of projects in the field of transport logistics, the modernization of rolling stock, and other priority areas of joint activities. In particular, the Slovak side expressed interest in continuing the project of building broad-gauge railway from Košice (Slovak Republic) to Bratislava. In turn, the leadership of JSC Russian Railways has confirmed its intention to further cooperation in this field.

Also, Peter Priputen noted the active participation of JSC Russian Railways in the Russian–Slovak Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the events held by businessmen from the two countries under the auspices of Business Councils.
The sides confirmed their intention to further develop cooperation and agree to continue a series of talks to determine the most promising areas of joint activities and specific projects.
Recall that, in the framework of the official visit of the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico in Russia on June 1–2, 2015, concerning JSC Russian Railways, a number of documents were signed:
– Memorandum of Cooperation between JSC Russian Railways and Railways of the Slovak Republic in order to develop rail transit cargo on the Eurasian transport corridor;
– Memorandum of Cooperation between JSC Federal Passenger Company and the Slovak–Russian Business Council;
– Agreement on cooperation between the Russian Trade Union of Railwaymen and Transport Builders (Rosprofzhel) and the health spa JSC Kúpele Trenčianske Teplice
