A high-speed rail project connecting the Indian state capital of Andhra Pradesh Hyderabad with the city of Machilipatnam is underway, the Indian Government announced today.

The project aims to reduce travel times and provide a direct route from Hyderabad International Airport to Machilipatnam port.
Indian officials are currently seeking central funds for the project. Further details are expected when their reports are finalised.
