The Macedonian Railways will soon be serviced by six brand new passenger train sets, produced by the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC).

The first 25 kV 50 Hz electric multiple-unit rolled off the production line in the Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive plant, only one year after the signing of the contract.

IGW was part of the design and manufacturing process of the rolling stock. We developed and delivered two stage axle gearboxes for the fully suspended drive system, assuring that the trains meet the TSI standard drafted by the European Railway Agency and the national standards of Macedonia. The vehicles will have a maximum speed of 160 km/h, even faster than the 140 km/h specified in the contract.
We’re very proud to contribute to this project, that is of great importance for CRRC as it’s the first time a Chinese trainbuilder sells a bullet train to a European customer. The excellent result is prone to open more doors for China on the European railway market. Definitely to be continued!
