CSX and its partners have commenced track relaying operations on the Blue Ridge Subdivision, a 60-mile segment of track spanning North Carolina and Tennessee, following significant flood damage.

Project Overview

The Blue Ridge Subdivision project involves the restoration of a critical 60-mile section of track located in North Carolina and Tennessee. The infrastructure suffered damage due to flooding. According to Kevin Haddix, CSX director of track, the roadbed preparation took approximately 10 months.

Track Installation

Track panel installation is being undertaken by contractors from B&P Enterprises during nighttime operations. CSX and RailWorks teams are responsible for electric flash butt welds, which are performed during daytime shifts.
