CMC will Construct Ghana Railway

The $6 billion railway project between Ghana and China is set to connect Nsawam with Kumasi and Tamale to Yendi.

The Government of Ghana and the China National Machinery Import & Export Corporation (CMC) have signed a $6bn contract for the construction of a railway in the country.

The proposed railway will run from Nsawam through Kumasi to Paga and from Tamale to Yendi. The first and the second phases of the projects will commence on 1 September 2012 and in June 2014 respectively, according to the Government of Ghana.
