Serbia has awarded a €70 million contract for the procurement of 30 light rail vehicles from Spanish firm CAF, featuring 242 passenger capacity and low-floor operation with five cars powered by DC electricity.

Serbia’s capital city Belgrade has awarded a €70m contract to Spanish firm CAF to supply 30 light rail vehicles.

The vehicles, which belong to the company’s URBOS family, are 33m long and 2.3m wide, are 100% low floor and can accommodate 242 passengers.
Each train includes five cars with two powered bogies and a trailer bogie, and operates at a power of 600V dc.
The fleet is scheduled to be delivered over a three-year period.
