CAF will Supply 16 New Trains for Metrorex
CAF, a Spanish construction company, has secured a €107.2m contract to supply 16 new metro trains to Metrorex, Romania’s national rail operator, replacing older trains and fulfilling part of the country’s budget allocation for urban transit improvements.

Spanish construction company Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF) has won a €107.2m contract to deliver 16 new trains to Metrorex, which operates metro trains in Bucharest, Romania.
The contract will be funded through a loan from the European Investments Bank and budget allocation from Romania.
Metrorex currently has 44 Bombardier trains and 31 older IVA trains. The new trains will replace some older subway trains in Bucharest.
