Bombardier to Build 28 Additional SkyTrain Vehicles for TransLink in Vancouver
Bombardier announced today that TransLink, Metro Vancouver’s regional transportation authority, has exercised options for the purchase of an additional 28 next-generation BOMBARDIER INNOVIA Metro 300 vehicles for service on the Vancouver SkyTrain network.
This order is valued at $93 million CAD ($69 million US, 67 million euro). Production is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2017 and final delivery is expected in the fourth quarter of 2018.

With the supply of this new order of next-generation automated vehicles, Bombardier will support TransLink’s efforts to open new lines and bring additional capacity, by carrying up to 3,640 more people on the SkyTrain network at a time – for more than a 12% increase . The latest generation of INNOVIA Metro 300 trains is designed with sustainability in mind.
