Argentina will Connect Buenos Aires to Suburbs with Commuter Line
Argentina is set to open bidding for a US$650 million project to modernize its San Martin commuter train line and upgrade infrastructure along 35 miles of route, part of efforts to improve the country’s aging railway network.

Argentina is set to open bidding for a US$650m project to modernise a busy train line, the government has announced.
According to Reuters, the project will electrify the state-operated San Martin commuter line linking Buenos Aires to its northern suburbs.
Other work includes upgrading signalling and other infrastructure along the 35-mile route, currently operated by diesel locomotives.
The government has recently embarked on several rail projects to improve the country’s ageing railway network, including the construction of a high-speed link connecting the capital with two other cities.
