Alpine Holding Signs Contract for Downtown Line Stage 2 in Singapore

Singapore’s Land Transport Authority has awarded two major civil contracts worth $476 million to Austrian company Alpine Holdings for the design and construction of stations and tunnels on its Downtown Line Stage 2, marking the completion of the last two out of ten major contracts.

Singapore’s Land Transport Authority has awarded two civil contracts totalling $476m (S$670.74m) to Austrian company Alpine Holdings for its under-construction Downtown Line Stage 2 (DTL2).

The contracts, which are for the design and build of stations and tunnels, form the last two of the ten major contracts awarded for the 16.6km rail line.
The first S$320.7m contract is for Sixth Avenue and King Albert Park stations and the second S$350.04m contract is for Tan Kah Kee Station.
Work on the stations is expected to begin in 2010.
