The Asian Development Bank is providing $125 million to build a 311-kilometer railway line connecting Turkmenistan, Iran, and Kazakhstan through the existing rail network in Turkmenistan.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will extend $125m to Turkmenistan to build a 311km railway line through the Turkmen section of the existing rail line to Iran.

The rail line will pass through a corridor linking Kazakhstan with an Iranian port on the Persian Gulf.
The loan will cover 75% of the project cost of $166.7m, repayable over 25 years with a five-year grace period.
The rail project will be completed by September 2012.
