SAR is planning to build a 120km railway line linking the industrial city of Jubail and Dammam port connecting the mining centres.

The railway link will connect the two Saudi industrial hubs of Ras Al Zour and Jubail on the Persian Gulf coast.
The 15,000t capacity railway will link the phosphate mine at Al Jalamid and the bauxite mine at Al Zabirah to processing facilities developed by Saudi Arabian Mining with Saudi Basic Industries and Alcoa at Ras Al Zour.
Saudi Rail has not revealed the cost of the project.
Saudi Arabia Railway is planning to launch the tender in August for Ras Al Zour and Jubail line and bidders will be given three months to submit their offers.
