FreightCar America Inc. Financial Results

FreightCar America Inc. announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2025. Revenue reached $160.5 million, an increase from $113.3 million in the same quarter a year ago. Rail-car deliveries totaled 1,304 units, up from 961 units in the prior year period. Gross profit for Q3 2025 was $24.2 million, compared to $16.2 million in Q3 2024. The company recorded a $17.6 million noncash adjustment due to share price appreciation, resulting in a net loss of $7.4 million, or 23 cents per share. Adjusted net income was $7.8 million, or 24 cents per share. FreightCar America Inc. ended Q3 2025 with a backlog of 2,750 units valued at $222 million.

CLR Appointment and Expansion

CLR (formerly County Line Rail) appointed Bryan Boaz as chief commercial officer. Boaz’s experience includes his career as a conductor at Kansas City Southern and leading ExxonMobil’s North American rail program. Most recently, Boaz led Gulf Coast rail operations for ExxonMobil’s supply chain organization, managing key Canadian assets and overseeing more than 100 agreements for rail-car switching, storage, and transloading across North America. CLR also launched a new website to support its national expansion strategy.

Hitachi Rail and Tobu Railway Partnership

Hitachi Rail and Tobu Railway Co. of Tokyo have formed a strategic partnership. The collaboration will implement Hitachi’s HMAX, a digital asset management platform, on Tobu Railway’s trains. The partnership aims to advance the digital transformation of rolling stock maintenance.
