Introduction

CAF has signed a EUR 500 million contract with Trivia Trens S.A., part of the Comporte Group, for the comprehensive maintenance of 107 electric multiple units operating on São Paulo’s Lines 11–Coral, 12–Safira and 13–Jade. The 24-year agreement commences with the start of assisted commercial operation in July 2026.

Contract Details

The contract, one of CAF’s largest services agreements to date, will see CAF provide maintenance services for the 107 electric multiple units. These units are deployed on São Paulo’s Lines 11–Coral, 12–Safira and 13–Jade. The contract value is approximately EUR 500 million and spans a 24-year period, beginning in July 2026.

Fleet and Scope

The fleet covered under the agreement consists predominantly of trains manufactured by CAF. The contract extends CAF’s role from supplier to long-term maintainer. Lines 11, 12 and 13 cover over 100 km of track and serve key cities in the São Paulo metropolitan region, including Guarulhos, Mogi das Cruzes, Poá, Suzano, Ferraz de Vasconcelos, and Itaquaquecetuba. These lines transport around 800,000 passengers daily.

Digital Platform Integration

The electric multiple units will be equipped with CAF’s LeadMind digital platform. This platform enables real-time monitoring of critical parameters and supports predictive and condition-based maintenance. The system is designed to optimize maintenance planning, increase rolling stock availability, and reduce lifecycle costs.
