North American Fleet & System Deliveries
On February 8, 2026, Alstom commissioned 76 Flexity light-rail trainsets on Metrolinx’s new Line 5 Eglinton Crosstown extension in Toronto, Canada. The project includes a long-term maintenance contract for the Canadian-manufactured fleet and the delivery of the communications-based train control (CBTC) signaling system. The new line spans 12 miles and incorporates 25 stations.
Alstom Delivers Integrated LRV Fleet and Signaling for Toronto
Alstom’s scope of work for the Metrolinx Line 5 project encompasses the vehicles, the core signaling system, and long-term fleet maintenance. The 76 Flexity light-rail vehicles were manufactured and tested at Alstom facilities within Canada. The deployment supports the operational launch of the 12-mile Eglinton Crosstown line, a critical east-west transit corridor in Toronto designed to increase network capacity.
The company also supplied the CBTC signaling infrastructure for the line. This technology enables more precise train control, potentially allowing for shorter headways and increased service frequency compared to conventional signaling systems. The integration of vehicle supply with signaling and maintenance from a single provider is a model intended to reduce interface risks for the transit authority during project execution and the operational lifecycle.
By securing the maintenance contract, Alstom will manage the fleet’s operational availability and performance. This arrangement allows Metrolinx to better forecast and control the total cost of ownership (TCO) for the new assets. Accurate and consistent maintenance data collection is essential for evaluating long-term asset performance, identifying component failure patterns, and optimizing the replacement cycle for the fleet.

Integral dx Completes Third Locomotive Delivery to U.S. Military
Integral dx delivered its third switching locomotive to the United States military, with the U.S. Air Force commissioning the unit at Joint Base Charleston in South Carolina. The locomotive is an Integral dx Model SWR18, a rear cab design with a power rating of 1,800 horsepower. Its designated function is to stage rail cars within the rail yard that serves the military installation.
The locomotive was fabricated and assembled at the company’s facility located in Granite Falls, Minnesota. This delivery follows two prior orders for sister switching locomotives from other branches of the U.S. military. The U.S. Army received a unit in November 2025, and the U.S. Navy took delivery of its locomotive in March 2025. This series of contracts across multiple armed forces branches establishes Integral dx as a key supplier for specialized, non-combat rail equipment for defense logistics applications.
