Rail Baltic Estonia will construct a rolling stock maintenance depot in the Soodevahe area of Rae municipality. The contract for the design and construction of the facility is valued at €41,331,818, excluding VAT. The project is scheduled for completion by December 2028.

The design, developed by a consortium of OÜ Reaalprojekt and NORD PROJEKT AS, specifies a main building containing a maintenance hall and a three-storey administrative section. The facility will contain six indoor maintenance tracks with a combined length of 1,380 metres. A separate track will be equipped with a train wash and a wheel lathe.

The depot is engineered to service six high-speed train sets or twelve regional trains simultaneously. The external area will feature an additional six tracks for train cleaning and parking. Construction is planned to commence at the end of 2026, with the completed facility expected to create between 150 and 200 permanent positions. The Estonian passenger rail operator Elron is a key stakeholder in the project.
