The $5. 5 billion Honolulu Rail Transit project, including a 20-mile elevated rail system connecting East Kapolei to Ala Moana Centre in the US state of Hawaii, is underway along Kualakai Parkway in Kapolei.

The city and county of Honolulu has started work on a $5.5bn Honolulu Rail Transit project along Kualakai Parkway in Kapolei, in the US state of Hawaii.

The Transit Corridor Project is a 20ml elevated rail system connecting the busy east-west transportation corridor between East Kapolei and Ala Moana Centre.
The line will include 21 stations in communities including Waipahu, Pearl City, Aiea, Kalihi, Chinatown, Downtown Honolulu, and Kakaako.
There will also be stations at activity centres such as UH-West Oahu, Leeward Community College, Pearl Highlands, Pearlridge, Aloha Stadium, Honolulu International Airport, and Honolulu Community College.
