Siemens Expands 2 China Metro Line

A consortium led by Siemens and CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive has secured a €431 million contract to expand two Chinese rail lines with the provision of control systems and rolling stock for metro extensions in Shanghai and Guangzhou.

A consortium made up of Siemens and China’s CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive (ZELC) have won a €431m contract to expand two Chinese rail lines.

The contract will supply the control systems and rolling stock for the Shanghai and Guangzhou metro line extension.
A total of 58 six-car metro trains will be put into service in Shanghai, while Guangzhou will receive control systems and thirty trains.
