Thales has won a €36m contract in Turkey to supply the train control and signalling system for the Kadikoy-Kartal line on Istanbul’s metro system.
The company will supply, install, implement and maintain the integrated solution, which includes SelTrac CBTC and integrated communication and control systems.
The 21.7km, 16-station line is the first metro line on the city’s Asian side and is part of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s plans to upgrade and expand the city’s public transport system.
Thales has proposed an operation control centre solution for the line that will manage the security systems as well as the supervisory control and data acquisition systems.
