Israel Railways has awarded a €47m ($63.7m) contract to German firm Siemens to supply 31 Viaggio Light passenger coaches in 2011.

The fleet, which includes 27 intermediate cars and diesel-generator sets and four driving trailers, will serve the new line linking Tel Aviv with its suburb Rishon Le-Zion.
