Siemens Transportation Systems has secured a €28 million contract for signaling systems in China’s Shenzhen metro extension project, which includes updating an existing line with their advanced automatic train control software.

Siemens Transportation Systems and China Railway Signal & Communications Corporation (CRSC) have won a €28 million contract to equip the Chinese Shenzhen metro line extension with signalling systems.

The existing Line 1 is currently being extended by 25km with 15 new stations.
The line, which is due to be completed in 2010, will run from Shenzhen Airport Station to Luo Hu Station on the border with Hong Kong.
The extension will be updated with Siemens automatic train control system software currently serving the existing metro line.
