A Scottish railway station plans to go green with a wind turbine mounted on a 15m mast at Leuchars station, powered entirely for the station building and including heating and lighting.

A Scottish railway station is set to go green if plans to build a wind turbine at Leuchars station in Fife go ahead.

The turbine, designed to be mounted on a 15m mast at the end of a station platform, would supply all the power for the station building including heating and lighting.
The move is part of train operator First ScotRail’s strategy to reduce its carbon footprint, which is being funded by state-controlled Transport Scotland.
