Russia will Construct 1100 km Railway Line
Mongolia has approved construction of a 1,100km broad-gauge rail line connecting its Tavan Tolgoi coal deposits with Russia via Saynshand and the existing Russian-Bayantumen route.

Mongolia has approved the construction of a 1,100km rail line between the country and Russia.
The line links the Tavan Tolgoi coal deposits with Saynshand and the existing line from Russia to Bayantumen. The 1,520mm broad gauge line is expected to develop coal export markets through Russia.
The government chose the link over another proposal for a shorter standard gauge line to China, according to railwaygazette.com.
