The Netherlands has equipped its 45km Havenspoorlijn freight line with Alstom’s Atlas control and signalling system.
The rail line links Vaanplein with Maasvlakte and is part of the Betuweroute, freight corridor A, which connects the port of Rotterdam to Germany. The signalling system is compliant with the ERTMS Level 1 standard, which helps increase the travelling speed of the trains as well as the line’s capacity.

The line is the second in the country to be equipped with the Atlas system.
