Korea Eximbank has approved a $296 million loan for Hyundai Corporation to export electric rail cars to Ukraine as part of its ambitious $4 trillion railway modernization project.

Korea Eximbank has agreed a loan of $296m to Hyundai Corporation for a project involving the export of high-speed electric rail cars to Ukraine.

The project is the first step of Ukraine’s $4tn project for railway modernisation, which aims to introduce 1,500 high-speed rail cars over the next ten years.
Hyundai Corporation, the exporter, and Hyundai Rotem, the manufacturer, won the contract.

Railway infrastructure, rolling stock and transport technologies specialist focused on global rail industry developments, high-speed rail systems, signaling technologies and freight transportation. Covering railway investments, public transport modernization, rail operations and international mobility projects across Europe, Asia and North America.
