ENSCO, Inc. is proud to announce that its wholly owned Australian subsidiary ENSCO Rail Australia Pty Ltd has won a prime contract to build a Track Inspection Vehicle for Roy Hill Infrastructure Pty Ltd in Western Australia.

ENSCO will equip the vehicle with state-of-the-art sensing systems, including track geometry and rail profile measurement, rail corrugation, comprehensive machine vision track inspection, laser ballast profiler, ultrasonic rail flaw inspection, and ground penetrating radar. The sensor data will be stored in the enterprise-wide Comprehensive Track Data Management and Maintenance Advisory System ENSCO is delivering for Roy Hill under a separate contract.

“This project validates ENSCO’s global market expansion strategy,” stated ENSCO President Boris Nejikovsky. “Our strategic focus on the Australian market and investment in the development of advanced track geometry, machine vision, and track data management technologies positioned ENSCO to compete with technology differentiators that the competition could not match.”

Roy Hill is a large mining project that will transfer iron ore mined in Australia’s Pilbara region along a 213-mile railroad to a dedicated facility located south of Port Hedland on Australia’s western coast. The railway will operate continuously with five ore trains per day, each consisting of three locomotives hauling 232 ore cars with a total payload of 31,450 tons of ore.
