The New South Wales Government (NSW) in Australia is pressing ahead with plans for rail links and seeking out private investors to fund the projects.
The government is moving forward with plans for suburban links in the north-west and south-west of the state including land acquisition projects for the two routes.
The state government has said it wants to find private investors to finance the two links, which will also include a new tunnel linking Chatswood and Redfern via North Sydney, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
The NSW Government has long-term plans to launch a new metro train system which it says will require help from the federal government.
Both links are expected to be in operation within a decade.
