Alstom has announced it has renewed its maintenance contract for London Underground’s Jubilee Line fleet in a deal worth €117m with Tube Lines, the company charged with rebuilding 40% of the Tube network.

Alstom will continue to maintain the 63 trainsets until 2017.
The line has seen recent increases in traffic frequency due to the development of business districts in east London. Further increases are expected when the line links to facilities for the 2012 Olympic Games.
Alstom will also continue to maintain the Northern Line’s 106 trainsets until 2017 with an option for 10 additional years.
