Alstom Maintains Suburban Trains in Sweden

Alstom has secured a €107m contract with Stockholmståg to maintain 135 suburban trains, including both new and older types of commuter vehicles.

Alstom has received a €107m ($131m) contract from Stockholmståg to maintain a fleet of 135 suburban trains in Stockholm, Sweden.

The five-year contract is expected to involve the complete maintenance of 71 Coradia Nordic trains Alstom has delivered to Storstockholms Lokaltrafik.

The France-based company said it would also maintain 12 Coradia Nordic trains scheduled for delivery in 2012, and another 52 older types of commuter trains.

Stockholmståg operates commuter trains in the greater Stockholm area.The move will optimise the maintenance regime to improve fleet availability and performance.
