Introduction

Cooperation in China

During a visit to China, KTZ management visited logistics facilities such as the Xi’an Dry Port, Xianguojigang Station, and the Kazakhstan terminal. Xi’an, accounting for 46% of the total volume, or over 16,000 TEUs, is a leader in container train shipments.

Meetings and Discussions

KTZ Chairman of the Management Board Talgat Aldybergenov met with Xi’an Mayor Ye Niuping to discuss expanding transport and logistics cooperation and increasing freight volumes. A quadrilateral meeting involving KTZ, Azerbaijani and Georgian Railways, the Xi’an City Hall, and representatives of Turkish Railways, reaffirmed their commitment to developing the TITR and agreed on joint steps to improve infrastructure, digitalize logistics processes, and coordinate freight flows.

Collaboration with Turkmenistan and China

The management of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy also met with the Minister of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan and Secretary of the Communist Party of China for Jinhua, Zhu Chunlie. Discussions focused on expanding trade and economic cooperation, developing transport and logistics ties, and strengthening transit potential within the Belt and Road Initiative. The focus was on joint projects in multimodal transport and the integration of logistics routes.

Strategic Significance of Jinhua

Jinhua is a significant transport and industrial hub in eastern China. Developing dialogue with its leadership is strategically important for KTZ and Kazakhstan, as a key transit bridge between China and Europe.

Transit Expansion

Kazakhstan is strengthening its role as a transit bridge between East and West by expanding transportation geography, opening new logistics opportunities, and offering competitive routes.
