Additional features include 12 bicycle spaces, power outlets, USB charging points, and Siemens Mobility’s high-frequency window solution for improved mobile phone reception.

The trains’ batteries can be charged while driving or stationary, eliminating the need for extra charging infrastructure. Silicon carbide technology (SiC) is used to reduce energy consumption. Siemens Mobility will handle long-term maintenance under a full-service contract at the Dortmund Rail Service Centre, using the Railigent X digital platform for monitoring.
