Johor Baru to Gemas High Speed Railway Project Starts

Malaysia has awarded a $2.3 billion contract worth 7.5 billion ringgit to China for the construction of a 250km double-track railway in southern Malaysia, connecting Johor Bahru with Gemas in neighboring Negeri Sembilan.

Malaysia will award a $2.3bn (7.5bn ringgit) contract to China to build a railway in the southern part of the country, the Malaysian Prime Minister has announced.

The 250km double-track railway will connect the southern city of Johor Bahru with Gemas in the neighbouring state of Negeri Sembilan.
Work is expected to be carried out by a consortium made up of China Railway Engineering and China Railway Telecommunication Centre.

Railway infrastructure, rolling stock and transport technologies specialist focused on global rail industry developments, high-speed rail systems, signaling technologies and freight transportation. Covering railway investments, public transport modernization, rail operations and international mobility projects across Europe, Asia and North America.
