Kyiv-Przemysl Train Tested

A rapid railway route from Kyiv to the Polish city of Przemyśl has been tested with the first express train between the two countries. It was welcomed by Polish railway employees, according to news agency Zaxid.net.

A rapid railway route from Kyiv to the Polish city of Przemyśl has been tested with the first express train between the two countries. It was welcomed by Polish railway employees, according to news agency Zaxid.net.

The Intercity+ train arrived in Poland on December 18, 3.45 a.m. Kyiv time. It was a technical trial with no passengers aboard. The head of Ukraine’s railroad agency Ukrzaliznytsia Wojciech Balczun earlier stated Ukrzaliznytsia will launch a rapid train route from Kyiv to Przemyśl via Lviv from December 23.

According to preliminary estimates, the ticket fare will be UAH 1,500-2,000 (about USD 60) depending on the travel class. The travel itself will take up to 7 hours.
