Transilien Expands Workforce With 600+ Hires In 2026
Transilien SNCF Voyageurs recruits over 600 staff in 2026 to support Île-de-France rail network expansion and RER E extension.

Transilien SNCF Voyageurs will recruit more than 600 personnel in 2026 to support operations across the Île-de-France suburban rail network. The hiring plan allocates approximately 400 positions for train and RER drivers, 100 for maintenance technicians, and 100 for customer service agents at stations.
The workforce expansion is required for major capital projects, including the westward extension of the RER E line to Mantes-la-Jolie under the EOLE project. Staffing increases also support a fleet renewal program funded by the transport authority, Île-de-France Mobilités, and the modernization of maintenance workshops.
In 2025, the operator exceeded its recruitment target of 800, hiring more than 950 staff. For the 2026 intake, a communications campaign in partnership with France Travail will begin in February 2026, followed by a regional recruitment forum during the spring.
Candidates for driver roles will undergo a 12-month paid training program provided by the company. Maintenance positions require qualifications in mechanics, electrical engineering, or electronics. The operator’s apprenticeship program currently constitutes over 5% of its total workforce.
