Stadler to Provide 11 double-decker Trains to Aeroexpress
Russian airport service provider Aeroexpress have agreed to buy 11 trains, which include nine six-car units and two four-car units from Switzerland-based manufacturer Stadler Rail Group.
Russian airport service provider Aeroexpress have agreed to buy 11 trains, which include nine six-car units and two four-car units from Switzerland-based manufacturer Stadler Rail Group.
The deal is valued at €183.9m and of that amount €67.2m has already been paid by Aeroexpress. A sum of RUB11.1bn (€150m) will be provided by Gazprombank.
The first train is expected to start commercial operation by December this year on the Paveletsky station to Domodedovo airport route in Russia.
The double-decker vehicles are also expected to begin carrying passengers to Vnukovo airport by next year. They will be with 3.4 meters wide and 5.2 meters high and are designed to reach maximum speeds of up to 160km/h.
Expected to be fully operational before the country hosts FIFA World Cup in Moscow in 2018, the new trains will connect Domodedovo Airport and Vnukovo International Airport to the city centre.
Aeroexpress director general Alexey Krivoruchko said:[quote font_size=”20″]
