The African country of Ghana is planning to undertake a major railway construction across the nation in 2009–2010.

Work will be carried out in two phases, with the first involving maintenance of the rail network connecting all of the country’s major cities.

The second phase involves building rail networks to connect all of Ghana’s sub-major cities, including the rural areas.

The Ghana Railway Development Authority has invited bids from interested companies to undertake the construction and operation activities for the project.
