The European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) will provide 20 students with complimentary admission to the ERTMS 2026 Conference, scheduled for April 21-23, 2026, in Valenciennes, France. The initiative targets postgraduate students specializing in railway signaling and communications from institutions within the European Union. The program’s objective is to integrate emerging specialists into technical discussions surrounding the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS).

Eligibility is restricted to students enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program for the 2025/2026 academic year at a university or higher education institution in an EU Member State. The field of study must be directly relevant to ERTMS. To ensure broad geographical representation, selections will be capped at a maximum of three students per Member State.

The application deadline is March 20, 2026. Following the selection process, ERA will notify the 20 successful applicants by March 25, 2026. To secure their place, selected students must provide proof of their transport and accommodation reservations by April 1, 2026. While conference admission is free, participants are responsible for all travel, lodging, and meal expenses not covered by the official event catering.
