China will Build Railway Line in Tehran
China will sign a contract with Iran to build a railway line in Tehran.
The $2bn (£1.3bn) project includes the first step of a project to connect the Middle East and Central Asia to Beijing in China. The line will run from Tehran through the cities of Arak, Hamedan and Kermanshah to the town of Khosravi on the border with Iraq.
The 1,225-mile route could also link Iran with Iraq and Syria in the future, according to telegraph.co.uk. The final document of the contract has been signed with a Chinese company and representatives of the countries will meet this week to finalise a deal for the route.
The Asian Development Bank is funding a feasibility study for the project.
