Alstom Transport has launched its new tram and light low-floor metro bogie at the 58th UITP World Congress and Mobility & City Transport Exhibition in Vienna, Austria.

The new bogie Ixege is designed to improve the ride quality on poor-quality track and is claimed to be the first bogie to combine the ability to rotate with a low floor.

The installation of a permanent magnet outside the bogie enables the construction of the low-floor bogie.

The first application of Ixege will be on 36 trams being built for Istanbul and 31 Citadis Dualis tram-trains for SNCF.
