Bombardier Transportation has received a contract to provide 24 low-floor Flexity classic trams to Polish operator Miejskie Przedsiebiorstwo Komunikacyjne.

The 32m-long trams have a width of 2.4m and can accommodate 229 passengers, according to Bombardier. Other features include five wide double-door and two single-door entrances, space for pushchairs and wheel-chair users, air-conditioning and a passenger information system.

The first tram will be delivered in March 2012 and the vehicles will be produced at Bombardier’s plant in Germany. The order value is estimated to be €59m ($76m), with Bombardier’s share amounting to approximately €40m ($52m).
