China will assist in the repair and maintenance of 75 locomotives sold to Pakistan. 

The agreement, signed between Pakistan Railways and Chinese firm Dongfang Electric, includes a three-phase strategy for the maintenance work.

The first phase involves establishing a warehouse for the spare parts of locomotives in Pakistan as well as the supply of spare parts.

The second and third phases involve the overhaul of locomotives as well as their full maintenance.
