Alstom has secured a €650 million contract for supplying 25 high-speed AGV trains to Italy, set to begin service in 2011.

Alstom has won a €650m deal to supply 25 trains to Italian railway operator Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori (NTV).

The high-speed AGV trains, which reach speeds of 300km/h, are expected to start service in 2011.
The contract follows the Italian Transport Ministry’s agreement to award NTV a Railway Company licence to operate passenger services.

Railway infrastructure, rolling stock and transport technologies specialist focused on global rail industry developments, high-speed rail systems, signaling technologies and freight transportation. Covering railway investments, public transport modernization, rail operations and international mobility projects across Europe, Asia and North America.
