Austria Orders 44 Railjet Trains Order

Austrian Federal Railways plans to expand its railjet train fleet by purchasing €540 million worth of Siemens-built trains, increasing the current number to 67 and beginning international operations with the first new models in 2010.

Austrian Federal Railways is to boost its fleet of railjet trains, which can travel up to 230km/h, with a €540m order.

German rail manufacturer Siemens is to provide 44 railjet trains to boost the current fleet to 67.
The first of the new fleet of trains will be used in international service from 2010 onwards.

Railway infrastructure, rolling stock and transport technologies specialist focused on global rail industry developments, high-speed rail systems, signaling technologies and freight transportation.
